Media, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's cross country team continued preparation for its fall campaign, with a strong showing at the Bryn Mawr Invitational on Saturday held at Rose Tree Park. Senior Rebecca Hammond was the top Swarthmore runner, finishing the 5000 Meter Run in 21:12.21, earning third place. Six Garnet runners finished the race in the top ten as both veterans and newcomers displayed promising performances for the season.
On Hammond's heels was fellow senior Rebecca Painter, who finished the race in 4
th (21:12.47), and close behind her in fifth was junior
Emma Saarel, with a time of 21:12.74.
Freshmen
Jenna Cody and
Katie McMenamin finished in sixth and eighth, respectively, with a time of 21:13.13 for Cody and a time of 21:27.71 for McMenamin. Rounding out Swarthmore's top ten finishers was freshman
Sarah Nielsen, in ninth, with a time of 21:33.00.

Liz Tawa (16
th/23:06.81) rounded out the Garnet performances on the day.
