SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College men's swim team fought to a second-place finish at the fourth annual Swarthmore Invitational, which wrapped up competition with two sessions on Saturday.
Swarthmore's lone individual win came courtesy of senior Daniel Duncan, who came from behind to win the 200 butterfly in 1:58.46. Duncan also finished second in the 400 IM (4:18.62).
Other notable swims included sophomore Sam Tomlinson, who came in third in the 200 backstroke in a fast 2:02.46, senior Charlie Hepper, who finished 4th in the 200 butterfly in 2:03.63, and freshman Josh Turek-Herman, who finished third in the 1650 freestyle in 17:29.30.
All three relays finished in second place. Juniors Cyrus Nasseri and Stan Le, sophomore Max Krackow, and Hepper opened the morning session with a 1:45.10 time in the 200 medley relay; Tomlinson, Duncan, junior Jake Benveniste, and junior John Flaherty teamed up to touch in at 7:25.13 in the 800 freestyle relay. Krackow, Tomlinson, Flaherty, and Duncan closed out the meet by swimming the 400 freestyle relay in 3:24.00.
The Garnet will return to action next Saturday, traveling to Ursinus. The meet is set to begin at 1pm.
