BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The No. 21 Swarthmore College women's soccer team cruised to a 6-0 win at conference foe Bryn Mawr College on Wednesday afternoon.
The Garnet showed off their depth with five different goalscorers and eight players recording points. Swarthmore scored just over a minute into the contest and never looked back. The Garnet defense smothered the Owls, allowing just one shot on the day.
Sofie Aird and
Lili Simcock shared the shutout in the net.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Swarthmore needed little time to take the lead. The Garnet earned an early corner kick and a failed clear found its way to
Celia Kanellakos. The junior blasted the ball into the upper left corner from the top of the box for a 1-0 lead just 1:19 into the contest.
- A handball in the box gave Swarthmore a penalty kick opportunity in the 11
th minute.
Charlotte Carleton converted to give the Garnet a two-goal lead.
Ava Gizzie got on the scoresheet in the 18
th minute, tapping in a feed from
Izzy Tolosa after the junior made a slick move around a defender in the box.

Liesel Blau closed out the first-half scoring in the 26
th minute. On a free kick, Tolosa got in position to head the service towards the goal. Her offering found the right post but Blau was there to put in the rebound and make it a 4-0 game.
- Kanellakos registered her second tally of the contest on the first shot of the second half. Facing away from the goal,
Madison Stockwell passed back to a cutting Kanellakos, who dribbled forward into the box under defensive pressure and fired off a shot into the left side of the net.

Anwen Reed had the final marker of the game in the 62
nd minute.
Eleanor Shanholtzer connected with the junior in the box and Reed finished for her third goal of the season.
