INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 8 Swarthmore College men's tennis team had three athletes selected to compete at the NCAA Individual Championships on May 23-26 at Champions Tennis Club in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Max Lindstrom and
Michael Melnikov were chosen to play in the singles tournament while Melnikov will team with
Utham Koduri to compete in the doubles competition.
Lindstrom is headed to the NCAA Championships for the first time in his career. The senior has a 19-10 record this season as the Garnet's No. 2 singles player. He has 132 total wins for his career, which is tied for second-most in program history.
Melnikov will play in the singles competition for the fourth straight year. Swarthmore's top player has earned All-America honors in all four years of his career, having already clinched the award this year due to winning the ITA Regional Tournament in the fall. Melnikov has advanced to the Round of 16 in each of the previous three trips. He boasts an impressive 32-3 record this season.
Melnikov and Koduri will compete in the doubles tournament for the fourth consecutive year. The duo have earned All-America honors in all three previous appearances. They were the national runners-up in 2023, reached the Round of 16 in 2024, and advanced to the semifinals in 2025. Melnikov and Koduri have a 15-11 record this year as a team.
The draws for both singles and doubles will be announced on May 22.
