ROME, Ga. - The Swarthmore College men's tennis duo of Nikola Galov and Connor Chun dropped their opening round match at the ITA Cup on Thursday night. The pairing became the first Garnet doubles team in over 20 years to compete at the tournament. 

Galov/ Chun squared off against Nick Meyers/ Chika Nwaozuzu of Denison University in an opening-round showdown. The Denison duo prevailed in the opening set, squeaking out a narrow 6-4 decision. The Garnet then punched back with a 6-4 triumph to force a third set, but dropped a 10-8 heartbreaker in the finale. 

The Swarthmore pairing returns to action tomorrow against the University of Wisconsin Whitewater in the consolation bracket.
