LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Swarthmore College softball team continued its rise in the national rankings on Tuesday, moving up one spot to No. 14 in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Top 25 Poll.
The Garnet (33-8) continued to improve the high watermark for the program after being ranked 15
th a week ago. Swarthmore was selected to host a NCAA Regional for the first time after capturing its second consecutive Centennial Conference title. The Garnet finished 16
th in the NCAA Power Index to earn hosting duties.
Swarthmore opens the national postseason versus Messiah University on Thursday at 11 a.m. Case Western Reserve University and Muskingum University are also competing in the double-elimination tournament. The last team standing advances to the super regionals on May 21-22.
