GILBERT, Ariz. – The Swarthmore College men's tennis team jumped one spot to No. 12 in this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Ranking.
The Garnet topped No. 36 Stevens Institute of Technology 7-0 in their lone match last week. Swarthmore has won seven in a row and sits at 12-5 overall this season.
Michael Melnikov leads the way at first singles, having won 12 consecutive matches. He has a 24-3 record this year.
Lalith Suresh and
Max Lindstrom have earned six and four straight victories respectively and both are second on the squad with 14 wins apiece.
The Garnet's second doubles team of
Andres Fente and
Kai Chen boasts a 17-4 mark and has won six in a row. The top duo of
Utham Koduri and Melnikov is 12-6 on the year while the third pair of
Winston Zhang and Lindstrom has a 9-3 record.
Swarthmore travels to the UMW Invitational this weekend at the University of Mary Washington.
