LANCASTER, Pa. – Swarthmore College's
Michael Melnikov was selected the Centennial Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the third time this season on Tuesday.
Melnikov went a perfect 5-0 over three victories for the seventh-ranked Garnet, helping them claim a fourth straight undefeated season in the conference. He opened the week with two wins versus Haverford, teaming with
Utham Koduri for a 6-3 victory at first doubles then earning a 6-2, 6-3 triumph at first singles. Melnikov was also victorious in both of his matches against 27th-ranked Christopher Newport, winning 6-4 alongside Koduri at first doubles and picking up a 6-2, 6-2 success at first singles. The senior closed the weekend with a 6-2, 6-0 decision at first singles against Dickinson.
Swarthmore visits Johns Hopkins University on Sunday for the regular season finale.
