- The Garnet doubled their advantage in the second. McClure began the inning with a walk and later scored on a sacrifice fly by
Elisabeth O'Connor. The Terriers got on the board in the fourth, pushing a run across on a two-out RBI double to make it 2-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Swarthmore again took an early lead when Espinoza brought in Barone with a single in the first. However, the Foresters got it back in the bottom of the frame, scoring on a two-out RBI single. The Garnet loaded the bases in the third but a groundout ended the inning and kept the score even at one. The stanza started with an infield single for Barone, making her the eighth player in program history to reach 150 career hits.
- Swarthmore broke the deadlock in the fifth. Espinoza reached on an error with one out and went to third on a McClure single to right. Espinoza then came home on a fielder's choice. The Garnet rallied for a run with two outs in the sixth to make it 3-1. O'Connor hit an infield single, Barone walked, then Szap plated O'Connor with a base hit.
- Goldberg did her part in the pitching circle, allowing just one Lake Forest player to reach second base from the second through sixth innings. The Foresters put together a comeback attempt in the seventh, loading the bases with one out.
