GILBERT, Ariz. – The Swarthmore College women's tennis team climbed one spot to No. 21 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Rankings.
The Garnet are off to a 2-2 start this spring against challenging competition. Swarthmore has victories over then-No. 25 Christopher Newport University and Division II Thomas Jefferson University. The Garnet suffered setbacks to Division I Towson University and then-No. 19 Washington and Lee University.
Ella Strickler has started strong this spring with a 2-1 singles record.
Hannah Kideckel also has a 2-1 mark. The doubles pair of Strickler and
Riya Rao has won two of their first three matches.
Swarthmore travels to Texas for three matches over spring break, beginning on March 10 versus No. 40 Skidmore College.
