LANCASTER, Pa. - The No. 16 Swarthmore College women's tennis team improved to 4-0 in the Centennial Conference with a straight-sets sweep over Franklin & Marshall College on Sunday afternoon. 

Kathleen Shiffer and Ella Strickler were both two-time winners for the Garnet. Shiffer teamed with Paola Almeda for a triumph at second doubles, while adding a third singles victory. Strickler then paired with Riya Rao at third doubles before capturing a fifth singles win. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Garnet were victorious at second and third doubles to claim an early point. Almeda/ Shiffer rallied for a 6-2 decision at second doubles, while Strickler/ Rao coasted to a 6-1 victory in the third position.  

- Lola Diaz and Erin Li both handled business in first and second singles, respectively. Diaz cruised to a top-singles win with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph. Li then overpowered her opponent with a 6-1, 6-2 decision. 

- Shiffer came back to defeat her opponent in third singles. After dropping the opening set 6-3, the senior clawed back with a 6-1 second set, and a 10-2 third-set win. 

- Lisa Messier won 6-0, 6-1 in fourth singles. Strickler then followed with a pair of 6-1 sets at fifth singles, while Hanna Kideckel closed things out with a 6-3, 6-3 victory in sixth singles.
