GILBERT, Ariz. - The Swarthmore College women's tennis team climbed five spots to No. 16 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Rankings released on Wednesday. It is the program's highest ranking since 2019.

The Garnet (6-4) have gone 4-2 since the last poll on March 4, including a thrilling 4-3 comeback win over then-No. 11 Carnegie Mellon University. Swarthmore has won each of its past three matches. The squad is 3-2 versus nationally-ranked opponents this season.

Ella Strickler is leading the way in singles play with a 7-1 record. Hannah Kideckel is 6-3 on the year, including 3-1 in the sixth spot. Lola Diaz and Erin Li have five wins apiece at the top of the Garnet lineup. Paola Almeda is the reigning Centennial Conference Player of the Week after going 4-0 overall last week.

Diaz and Li have posted a 5-3 record together at first doubles and are 7-4 overall on the year. The duo of Kathleen Shiffer and Almeda is 3-0 in the third spot and have won five straight matches overall. The team of Riya Rao and Strickler have recorded four victories.

Swarthmore hosts No. 20 Williams College and Ursinus College on Saturday.
