LANCASTER, Pa. – Swarthmore College's
Iris Barone was named the Centennial Conference Softball Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Barone batted .462 with a 1.533 OPS in a 3-1 week for the Garnet. She went 6-for-13 with three doubles, two triples, four stolen bases, a walk, two RBIs, and six runs out of the lead-off spot. In a doubleheader versus No. 25 Eastern, she tallied two doubles, a walk, two stolen bases, one RBI, and two runs to help Swarthmore earn a split. The senior then was 4-for-6 with a double, two triples, two stolen bases, one RBI, and four runs in a sweep of Penn State Berks. Barone currently leads the conference in batting average, OPS, runs, hits, doubles, and triples.
The Garnet visit Neumann University on Thursday.
