SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's lacrosse team returned to Clothier Field Stadium with a 18-2 victory over Immaculata University on Wednesday night. The Garnet have won six-straight contests after dropping their season opener by one point to Widener University.
Claire Long led the scoring outbreak with four goals, while Kate Fox notched three goals to complete her hat trick. Zoe Crawford was also a multi-time scorer with two goals, while nine other players scored one goal for the Garnet.
The team spread out the scoring with 12 total goal scorers. Ruby Polansky highlighted the evening with her first collegiate goal after battling injuries early in her career.
Elizabeth Walsh earned the victory between the pipes with one save and one goal against in the opening half. Sadie Steffens shared the duties with a strong second half, allowing just one goal with three saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Swarthmore wasted no time, scoring two goals in the opening minute of regulation.

Kela Watts all followed with scores to give the Garnet a five-goal edge before the 10-minute mark.
- The Garnet continued to pile on in the opening stanza. Crawford and Long both scored twice to end the period, while Kate Fox added her second goal of the stanza. Swarthmore exited the opening quarter with a 10-0 edge, while outshooting its opponent 13-1. Walsh stepped up and made a save on her only opportunity of the quarter.
- Swarthmore continued its domination throughout the second quarter. Fox and Long scored to open the stanza, finishing off their first-half hat tricks. Elle pedaci then found the back of the net, while Megan Kim and Jada Green collected their 14th- and 15th-straight goals, respectively. The Mighty Macs would get on the board before intermission, scoring with 2:17 left.
- Both teams were held scoreless in the third quarter. Steffens was put to the test with a couple shots on goal, but made both saves. Following an Immaculata goal to open the fourth, Cata Tarantino, Polansky and Ridgely Smith all scored to wrap up a chilly evening.
