LANCASTER, Pa. – Swarthmore College's
Ella Strickler garnered Centennial Conference Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week honors on Tuesday.
Strickler went 3-1 over a pair of matches for the 22
nd-ranked Garnet against top competition at Washington and Lee's Groundhog Palooza. She was victorious in doubles against the host Generals with a 7-5 decision before suffering a tough 6-7 (3-7), 4-6 loss in singles play. Strickler won both of her matches in the team's 5-2 win versus 25
th-ranked Christopher Newport. She came out on top in doubles with a dominant 6-0 victory and claimed her singles bout, 6-4, 6-2.
Swarthmore hosts Division II Thomas Jefferson University on Saturday.
