ST. PETER, Minn. – The No. 8 Swarthmore College men's tennis team was edged out by No. 11 Johns Hopkins University, 4-3, in the consolation bracket at the ITA Indoor Nationals on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Garnet swept the doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead.

Michael Melnikov claimed a tiebreak win at the first position, 7-6 (7-5).
- Melnikov made quick work of his opponent at first singles, winning 6-1, 6-0 for a 2-0 Swarthmore advantage. The Blue Jays earned back-to-back decisions at fourth and second singles to even the score up at two apiece.
Lalith Suresh came up on the short end of a 2-6, 3-6 score at the fourth spot and Lindstrom fell 2-6, 5-7 at the second flight.

Rishi Verma put the Garnet back in front with a 6-4, 6-4 triumph at fifth singles. However, Hopkins struck back with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 win over
Nikola Galov at the third spot.
- The match came down to sixth singles where the Blue Jays took the match, 7-5, 4-6, 6-0 against
Seth Sadikov.
