Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. – The No. 22 Swarthmore College women's tennis team fell to No. 19 Washington and Lee University, 7-0, in the Garnet's first match at the Generals' Groundhog Palooza event on Friday.

- Washington and Lee secured a 1-0 lead with back-to-back victories at second and first doubles. The host earned a 6-4 triumph over

Ella Strickler salvaged a victory for Swarthmore at third doubles, 7-5.
- The Generals picked up a 6-3, 6-2 win versus Li at first singles to go ahead by two. Diaz was dealt a 2-6, 2-6 defeat at the second flight and Washington and Lee led 3-0.

Lisa Messier came out on top in her first set at third singles, 6-4, but dropped the next two 4-6, 3-6, as the Generals clinched the match. Shiffer suffered a tough 6-7 (4-7), 4-6 setback at the fourth position. Strickler battled at fifth singles but fell 6-7 (3-7), 4-6, while
Uma Pogrebivsky dropped a 2-6, 4-6 decision at the sixth spot.
