GREENWOOD, Ind. – Swarthmore College had 11 student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Men's and Women's At-Large Teams on Tuesday.
Dylan Zhang represented men's golf while men's lacrosse had
Drew Tyson,
Samuel Ginsberg,
Rex Mabbs, and
Henry Kolyer selected to the squad. Zhang, Tyson, and Ginsberg received the award for the second year in a row.
On the women's side, field hockey players
Amelia Landry,
Katherine Kohn, and
Sophia Hitchingham joined women's lacrosse athletes
Mia Holland,
Isabela Bloomquist, and
Gillian Will as honorees. Holland is a three-time selection while Kohn, Hitchingham, and Bloomquist all garnered the accolade for the second time.
To be eligible for Academic All-District accolades, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, meet certain athletics participation criteria, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better. The Academic All-District Team is part of the Academic All-America program, which is the longest running and premier award for athletic and academic success across college sports.
Zhang earned All-Centennial honors for the third year in a row. Tyson received a pair of All-America selections while being named to the All-Centennial Second Team. Ginsberg garnered USILA All-America honorable mention and was an All-Centennial Second Team honoree along with Mabbs and Kolyer.
Landry was selected to the All-Region First Team with Kohn earning a second team nod. Hitchingham received All-Centennial honorable mention. Holland was named to the All-Centennial Second Team while Bloomquist and Will both garnered honorable mention recognition.
