LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Swarthmore College's
Lilly Goldberg was named a finalist for the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III Freshman of the Year award, earning top rookie honors for Region V.
Ten finalists, one from each of the NCAA's 10 regions, have been selected by the Association's Division III All-America Committee. The national winner will be announced next week.
Goldberg was selected to the NFCA All-Region V First Team and was the Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year. She also garnered All-Centennial First Team distinction. Goldberg went 18-6 with a 1.18 ERA and 0.89 WHIP. She hurled 14 complete games with seven shutouts while walking just 24 and striking out 156 in 154.2 innings. Opponents hit just .198 against her.

th in ERA, shutouts, and strikeout-to-walk ratio (6.50), 21
st in strikeouts, 22
nd in innings pitched, and 26
th in wins. She was chosen the Centennial Pitcher of the Week three times.
Goldberg's standout rookie campaign helped the Garnet capture their second Centennial title and NCAA Tournament appearance in three years. Swarthmore finished with a 33-12 record, setting a new program mark for victories in a season.
