Women’s Lacrosse Earns Important Conference Victory at Dickinson

CARLISLE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's lacrosse team secured a crucial 10-7 conference victory over Dickinson College on Saturday, improving to 2-2 in the Centennial Conference and taking control of the sixth seed.

The Garnet rallied from a late deficit, scoring five unanswered goals between the third and fourth quarters. Brooke Carrier played a key role, recording a career-high 13 saves, including four crucial stops in the final stanza to hold off the Red Devils.

Isabela Bloomquist and Aubree Daugherty each netted a hat trick, with Daugherty also contributing three assists for a total of six points. Claire Long added two goals and an assist to round out the offensive effort.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Swarthmore blanked the Red Devils in the opening stanza with Carrier totaling four saves. Bloomquist opened the scoring with 7:12 left, while Daugherty added with a tally at 4:21. 

- After being shut out for the first 18 minutes, Dickinson finally broke through with the first goal of the second quarter. However, Swarthmore quickly responded with three consecutive goals. Long and Bloomquist scored 30 seconds apart before the 10-minute mark, and Daugherty added another at 4:51. The Garnet appeared poised to take a four-goal lead into halftime, but Dickinson scored twice in the final two minutes, cutting Swarthmore's lead to 5-3.

- Dickinson delivered a critical blow to Swarthmore's momentum, scoring the first three goals of the third quarter. The Red Devils netted all three goals within the first six minutes, extending their unanswered streak to five. Trailing by one, Daugherty helped get the Garnet back on track with a game-tying goal at 2:45 left in the quarter.

- Swarthmore carried positive momentum into the fourth quarter, taking the lead with a go-ahead goal from Carly Rodrigues-Reilly. The Garnet continued to roll with goals from Annabel Stifler, Bloomquist, and Long, extending their lead to four. Carrier was outstanding in the final stanza, recording four saves and allowing just one goal late in the quarter.
