HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Swarthmore College women's lacrosse team dropped its regular season finale at No. 19 Haverford College, 10-6, on Saturday afternoon. However, the Garnet will return to the Centennial Conference Tournament for the first time since 2022 thanks to Washington College's loss at Gettysburg College on Saturday.

Swarthmore is the sixth seed for next week's conference playoffs and will travel back to Haverford, who is seeded third. The Garnet closed the conference schedule with a 3-5 mark, tied with the Shorewomen, but claimed the final spot in the tourney via their head-to-win versus Washington on March 29. It was Swarthmore's first victory against the Shorewomen since 2011.

The Garnet got out to a 2-0 lead in Saturday's contest but the Fords responded with seven of the next eight goals to take a 7-3 advantage. Swarthmore scored a late tally to pull within three at halftime but the Garnet were unable to make up ground in the second half, as Haverford outscored them 3-2.

Aubree Daugherty totaled two goals and one assist to lead Swarthmore.
Isabela Bloomquist finished with one goal and one assist while
Elizabeth Zack,
Claire Long, and
Annabel Stifler each scored one time. Zack also recorded six draw controls while
Amanda Morris registered three caused turnovers and two ground balls to lead the defense.
Brooke Carrier stopped 12 shots for her fourth double-digit save performance of the campaign.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Garnet got off to a strong start with Stifler and Bloomquist finding the back of the net in the opening six minutes. However, the Fords got going with a marker at 8:57, their first of three unanswered to close the period as they went in front 3-2.

- Daugherty pulled Swarthmore even at the 13:18 mark of the second quarter but Haverford came back with a 4-0 run to take a 7-3 advantage with 1:24 to go in the half. On a late woman-up opportunity, Daughterty netted her second of the day with just seven seconds left to bring the Garnet within three (7-4) at the break.

- Both teams managed just one goal in the third quarter and the Fords held an 8-5 edge entering the fourth. Haverford did not allow Swarthmore to gain momentum once again, allowing just one goal and outscoring the Garnet 2-1 in the stanza. Despite winning the draw control battle, 5-2, in the second half, Swarthmore totaled just 10 shots, seven on goal, over the final 30 minutes.
