Women’s Lacrosse Suffers Conference Loss at Muhlenberg

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's lacrosse team fell to Muhlenberg College, 11-8, on Wednesday afternoon. The Mules pulled ahead with five goals in the second quarter, securing the victory.

Aubree Daugherty led the Garnet with three goals and an assist, marking her fourth hat trick of the season. Isabela Bloomquist and Claire Long each contributed two goals, while Elizabeth Zack added one.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Mules opened with two unanswered scores to take an early lead in the opening stanza. Swarthmore was kept off the board for the majority of the quarter until Daugherty broke through with her first tally at the 2:43 mark.

- Muhlenberg scored a powerplay goal in the opening minute of the second quarter. Bloomquist and Zack responded with goals, sandwiched around a Mules score. However, Swarthmore allowed three consecutive goals, ending the half with a 7-3 deficit.

- Bloomquist tried to spark a comeback with the first goal of the third quarter, but the Mules quickly responded with two goals of their own. Daugherty followed with her third goal, cutting the deficit to four heading into the final quarter.

- Daugherty scored a powerplay goal to start the fourth quarter, but the Mules answered with back-to-back goals to extend their lead to five. Long added two late goals for the Garnet, but it was too late to spark a comeback.
