No. 12 Men's Tennis Records Shutouts at Ursinus and Dickinson

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The No. 12 Swarthmore College men's tennis team earned a pair of conference victories on the road on Saturday, defeating Ursinus College and Dickinson College by identical 7-0 scores.
 
Winston Zhang, Max Pogorelov, Nicholas Choo, Kevin Jiang, Utham Koduri, Andres Fente, Kai Chen, Aadhi Raja, Rishi Verma, Dylan Hayes Gilbert, and Aamish Pal all won two matches on the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The pair of Lindstrom and Zhang won its ninth straight match with a dominant 6-0 win at first doubles. Jiang and Koduri partnered up at third doubles and also did not drop a game in a 6-0 victory. Pogorelov and Choo battled to a tough 7-5 triumph at second doubles.
 
- Zhang rolled to a 6-0, 6-2 win at third singles. Michael Melnikov picked up another win at the top spot with a 6-1, 6-0 decision. Koduri cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 success at the second position to clinch the match.
 
- Choo won in straight sets at fourth singles, 6-2, 6-4. Jiang and Pogorelov were victorious in abbreviated matches with 8-0 and 8-2 wins at fifth and sixth singles respectively.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Gilbert and Pal got things started with a 6-1 victory at third doubles. Raja and Verma made quick work of their opponents at the second flight, 6-2. Fente and Chen completed a doubles sweep with a 6-3 triumph at the top spot.
 
- Pal earned a 6-0, 6-3 win at the fourth flight to begin singles play. Fente dropped just one game on the way to a 6-0, 6-1 success at third singles. Chen pulled out a close opening set at second singles, 6-4, before coasting to a 6-0 win in the second stanza.
 
- Verma rolled to a 6-0 victory in his first set at the top position. He came out on top 6-3 in the second frame. Gilbert and Raja won abbreviated matches 8-0 and 8-1 at sixth and fifth singles respectively.
 
UP NEXT
The Garnet (12-5, 6-0 Centennial) host Washington College on April 26 for their conference finale.
