SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The No. 18 Swarthmore College men's lacrosse team overpowered McDaniel College, 19-4, to open its final three-game homestand on Saturday afternoon. The Garnet have won their last eight outings against the Green Terror, dating back to 2016.

Clay Almgren totaled a team-high six points with two goals and four assists to pace an offensive explosion for the Garnet. Swarthmore totaled 14 different goal scorers, including Michael Hardiman, who collected a hat trick with one assist.

The Garnet defense held the Green Terror scoreless for 32-minutes after surrendering the opening two scores. Swarthmore's attack rattled off 13-unanswered goals during the stretch as they outscored their opponent in all four quarters.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Green Terror got off to a quick start with two-unanswered scores in the opening five minutes. Swarthmore quickly countered with tallies from Owen Hoffman and Ryder Maston to even the score, before Danny Lowe put the Garnet in front with 3:39 left. Before the end of the quarter, the Garnet added to their advantage with a Nolan Ohrman score and a long-stick goal from Liam Halstead. Swarthmore rattled off five-straight goals to end the stanza, making it 5-2.

- The Garnet picked up where they left off with a Maston goal at the 11:46 mark, Lowe then added another tally off an excellent feed from Maston just 30-seconds later.  Almgren then found rope after an incredible pass from Rex Mabbs with 7:03 left, while Ronan Butler joined the scoring with the team's ninth-straight score at 3:36. Swarthmore held its opponent scoreless in the quarter, building a 9-2 advantage.

- Swarthmore continued to pile on with four-straight goals to open the third quarter. Mabbs kicked off the scoring, while Jack Nicholson, Owen George and Hardiman increased their team's total to 13-straight goals. Nicholson scored his first collegiate goal after an assist from Tyson broke him free on the attack. McDaniel ended its 32-minute scoring drought with a goal at the 6:09 mark. However, the Garnet regained control with two Hardiman scores and tallies from Almgren and Nate Campbell to build a 17-3 lead.

- The Garnet capped off its victory with two more goals in the fourth quarter. Andrew Stodden notched the first score, while Jack Liss added his second score of the season on a crafty maneuver through traffic. Swarthmore outscored McDaniel, 2-1, in the final stanza.
