SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The No. 18 Swarthmore College women's tennis team rolled to a 6-1 victory over Franklin and Marshall College to begin Centennial Conference play on Saturday.
 
The Garnet lost just one match on the day with 
Lola Diaz, 
Nathalie Williams, 
Erin Li, 
Kathleen Shiffer, and 
Ella Strickler all picking up a pair of wins.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Diaz and Williams cruised to a 6-2 victory at first doubles to begin the match. Li and Shiffer teamed up to win by the same score at the second spot. 
Riya Rao and Strickler completed a doubles sweep with a 6-4 triumph at third doubles.
 
- Williams dropped just one game at first singles, winning 6-0, 6-1 to put Swarthmore up two. Strickler won in straight sets at the fifth position, 6-2, 6-3.
 
- Diaz gave the Garnet a 4-0 advantage and clinched the win with a 6-4, 6-3 success at the third flight. Li won her opening set at second singles handily, 6-2, before pulling out a 7-5 triumph in the second set.
 
- The Diplomats recorded their lone win at sixth singles with a 7-5, 6-2 win against 
Lisa Messier. Shiffer closed out the match with a 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-4) comeback win at the fourth spot.
