Women’s Lacrosse Takes Down Immaculata, Three Score Hat Tricks

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's lacrosse team routed Immaculata University with an 18-6 victory on Wednesday night. 

Aubree Daugherty tallied a game-high six points with one goal and five assists, while three different scorers netted hat tricks for Swarthmore. Claire Long and Elle Pedaci each totaled three goals and two assists, while Isabela Bloomquist added three goals and an assist.

Brooke Carrier earned the win with one save and one goal allowed in the opening quarter. Elizabeth Walsh played the final three quarters between the pipes with a season-high five saves. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Garnet opened the game with eight-unanswered goals to put the Mighty Macs away early. Bloomquist contributed three goals during the stretch to complete her hat trick by the 5:51 mark. Elizabeth Zack added on with a couple goals, while Sophie Finkelstein, Carly Rodrigues-Reilly and Long all contributed goals to aid an 8-0 run. Immaculata got on the board with its first score with 4:15 left, but Swarthmore countered with a pair of Pedaci goals and an Abigail Love score in the final seconds, 11-1. 

- The Mighty Macs outscored the Garnet 3-1 in the second quarter. Immaculata opened the stanza with two-straight goals, while Jada Green added her first of two tallies with 8:58 left. The Mighty Macs added another score in the final second of the half to shrink their deficit to eight, 12-4. 

- Swarthmore regained momentum with four-unanswered goals in the third. Paige Samuelson netted the first score, while Long followed with consecutive scores to complete her hat trick. Aubree Daugherty then put Swarthmore in front by 12 goals with a goal in the final minute of the third, 16-4.

- Pedaci became the third Garnet scorer to complete a hat trick with the opening goal of the fourth quarter. The Mighty Macs countered with a pair of goals, before Green notched Swarthmore's final tally with 57-seconds left.
