Box Score SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Swarthmore College men's tennis team wrapped up competition at the Skidmore Open on Sunday. The Garnet flexed their quality once again, competing in six final matches across various draws.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Michael Melnikov advanced to the final of the top flight with a convincing 6-1, 6-1 victory over Denison University in the semis. However, the senior came up just short of his second straight tournament win, falling 4-6, 7-5, 0-1 (7-10) to Middlebury College. Melnikov also reached the final in the top doubles draw alongside partner
Utham Koduri, but the pair dropped a 1-6 decision to Middlebury.

Max Lindstrom and
Nikola Galov put a bow on a perfect weekend by capturing the Flight B final with a 6-2 win versus Denison. After suffering a defeat in their opening match on Saturday, the team of
Andres Fente and
Kai Chen rallied to win the consolation round of the top doubles bracket, taking down Wesleyan University 6-3.

Winston Zhang and
Aamish Pal competed in the Flight C doubles final, suffering a 2-6 defeat to Wesleyan. Swarthmore was also represented in the Flight D final by the duo of
Fate MacAlasdair and
Cameron Samek. However, the two rookies came up short to Middlebury, 1-6.
