SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's soccer team settled for a 2-2 draw against Franklin & Marshall College on Saturday evening. The Garnet remain unbeaten through eight games with a 4-0-4 record. 

The Garnet received a pair of goals from Ava Gizzie and Charlotte Carleton to lead the way against the Diplomats. Gizzie netted the first score in the 49th minute, while Carleton added an insurance tally in the 80th minute. Gizzie scored their team-leading seventh goal of the season and has scored in three-straight games. 

The Diplomats erased a two-goal deficit with a pair of goals in the final 10-minutes of regulation. Franklin & Marshall scored their first goal in the 85th minute, before capitalizing off an own goal in the 89th minute. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Celia Kanellakos forced the keeper to make a save in the 11th minute. The first-year fired a shot from just outside the box, which was corralled by the keeper as an attacker pressured in front of the net. Kanellakos had another shot on goal saved in the 29th minute. 

- Nicole Jensen had a pair of shots in the final minutes of the first half. The first-year fired her first attempt high in the 39th minute and then had her second attempt saved in the 40th minute. Gizzie made one final push at the goal in the final seconds of the first half. The sophomore took a free kick from 35-yards out, but was turned away by the keeper. 

- Gizzie found the back of the net in the 49th minute to break a scoreless tie. Sydney Ross found Allie Zitell, who fed the ball to Gizzie inside the box. The sophomore then beat the keeper up close for the game's first goal.

- Carleton added an insurance goal in the 80th minute. Gizzie nearly connected on their second goal after deflecting a rocket off the crossbar. Carleton then stayed with the play and headed the ball past the keeper for her third goal of the season. 

- Franklin & Marshall scored off a second chance opportunity in the 85th minute. The Diplomats then caught a break on a corner attempt, which was accidentally directed into the goal by the head of a Swarthmore defender in the 89th minute for the game-tying score.
