Women's Lacrosse Fourth-Quarter Comeback Falls Short Versus Dickinson

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's lacrosse team fell short of a fourth-quarter comeback against Dickinson College, 13-11, on Saturday afternoon.

Swarthmore ended the game with four-straight goals as they outscored the Red Devils, 5-2, in the fourth quarter. However, the Red Devils narrowly held on to their advantage after building an 11-6 lead after three quarters.

Isabela Bloomquist paced the offense with a team-high four goals. Elizabeth Zack and Aubree Daugherty also added multiple scores with a pair of goals, respectively. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Dickinson opened the scoring with a goal at the 10:49 mark. Swarthmore quickly responded with a game-tying score from Kela Watts with an assist from Gillian Will, who tallied her 10th assist of the season. The Red Devils then gained seperation with three-unanswered scores in the final seven minutes of the opening stanza, 4-1. 

- In search of more offense, Daugherty notched a power play goal to open the second quarter. The Red Devils then rallied for two-straight scores to expand their lead to four goals. Abigail Love added a much-needed score to halt the Red Devils momentum with 5:36 remaining in the half. However, Dickinson totaled one final score to put the Red Devils ahead by four goals at halftime.

- Bloomquist opened the scoring with her first of four second-half scores, but the Red Devils quickly regained momentum with a pair of goals to expand their lead to five goals. Both teams traded a pair goals before the final intermission with Will and Daugherty finding the back of the net for Swarthmore, 11-6. 

- Dickinson took its largest lead of the afternoon as they took a six-goal advantage with 10:44 left in regulation. Zack helped slow down momentum with her first of two scores, but Dickinson quickly matched Swarthmore's tally with another score. The Garnet stormed back in the final eight minutes of play with four-unanswered goals to end the game. Bloomquist netted three goals during the team's 4-0 swing, while Zack scored her second goal of the quarter. Bloomquist's final two scores were 20 seconds apart with her final goal coming with 1:03 left.
