HOW IT HAPPENED

- Emily Bertrand escaped a bases-loaded jam in the first inning to keep Dickinson off the scoreboard. The Red Devils eventually struck first with two runs in the third on a two-run blast. Bertrand limited the damage in the innings as she stranded a pair of runners in scoring position.

- Elisabeth O'Connor legged out a bunt single with one out in the third inning. The first-year then came around to score on an RBI triple from Iris Barone, 2-1.

- Bertrand bounced back with a shutdown inning in the fourth to retire Dickinson in order. She then overcame a leadoff walk in the fifth to keep the Garnet within one run.

- Swarthmore came through with the game-tying run in the sixth inning. Simon led off the inning with a homer to left center field to tie the Red Devils. Olivia McClammy followed with a double to left center, but was left stranded in scoring position, 2-2.

- O'Connor's speed played a major role in the seventh inning. The first-year reached base on another bunt single, before stealing second base. She advanced to third on a ground out to the left side and then raced home for the game-winning run on a Jackson walk-off single to the pitcher, 3-2.
