No. 25 Women's Tennis Cruises Past Ursinus

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The No. 25 Swarthmore College women's tennis team made quick work of Ursinus College with a 9-0 victory. The Garnet improved to 4-1 in Centennial Conference play and improved to a perfect 12-0 against Ursinus College in the program's history.

Lola Diaz, Oviya Kumuran, Daniela Padron-Castillo and Riya Rao were all two-time winners across doubles and singles action. Diaz remained perfect in conference play as she earned a pair of easy victories in top singles and doubles. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
DOUBLES

- Erica Stutz/ Diaz cruised to victory with an 8-1 decision in top doubles. The duo improved to 3-0 in conference play with victories over Washington College and Johns Hopkins University. 

- Kumuran/ Spencer Watts also enjoyed a comfortable 8-1 victory in No. 2 doubles, while Padron-Castillo and Rao finished off the doubles sweep with a 8-2 victory in No. 3 action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
SINGLES

- Diaz became a two-time winner with a top singles victory. The sophomore took both sets 6-1 to earn her third-straight conference singles win.

- Kathleen Shiffer did not surrender a game as she won 6-0, 6-0 in straight sets at No. 2 singles. It marked the second time this season that Shiffer won singles action without losing a game. 

- Kumaran won her second match of the night with a victory in No. 3 singles. Kumaran took the opening set 6-2, before dominating the second set, 6-0. Padron-Castillo followed the exact same path with a 6-2, 6-0 victory in No. 4 singles for her second win of the night.

- Rao earned another victory with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 decision in No. 5 singles. Marisa Geib then closed out a successful morning with a 6-1, 6-0 victory in No. 6 action.

The Garnet (7-4, 4-1) host Haverford College on Wednesday.
