Women’s Lacrosse Unable to Slow Down No. 5 Franklin & Marshall

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's lacrosse team was unable to slow down No. 5 Franklin & Marshall College as it suffered a 16-3 defeat on the road. 

Isabela Bloomquist led the way for the Garnet with a pair of goals, while Abigail Love added a powerplay goal to the tally. Helen Stafford stood her ground between the pipes as she made 14 saves to fight off the Diplomats' nationally-ranked attack.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Staffiord made eight saves as she fought off a steady flow of attacks in the opening quarter. The Diplomats jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the stanza, while holding the Garnet to one shot.

- Franklin & Marshall continued to pile on with six-straight goals to open the second quarter. Late in the second, the Garnet got on the board with a Bloomquist goal and Love assist. The Diplomats then answered with one final tally before halftime, 12-1.

- Swarthmore held the Diplomats to two goals in the third quarter. Bloomquist added another score in the stanza with an unassisted goal at the 7:21 mark.

- Love opened the fourth quarter with a powerplay goal for the team's third score. Carly Rodriquez-Reilly assisted the score to notch the quarter's opening tally. The Diplomats closed out the scoring with two more goals as they held off the Garnet.
