Women's Lacrosse Bounces Back Against Neumann

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Swarthmore College women's lacrosse team dispatched visiting Neumann University, 17-5, in non-conference action on Wednesday evening.
 
The Garnet scored the first three goals of the contest and never trailed. The Knights were within striking distance in the third quarter, trailing by four, but Swarthmore posted nine straight goals to pull away.
 
Isabela Bloomquist racked up seven points on four goals and three assists. Abigail Love and Aubree Daugherty each produced three goals and one assist. Anna Stancofski recorded a team-high six draw controls with Mia Holland contributing with four draw controls and three caused turnovers. Helen Stafford turned away five shots in goal and moved into the top 10 on the program's career saves list.


 
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Garnet took a 3-0 lead within the first eight minutes of the contest on goals by Bloomquist, Gillian Will, and Kela Watts. Neumann netted its first of the game at the 3:45 mark and the score was 3-1 after one.
 
- The two sides traded goals before Swarthmore closed the half with four in a row by four different players to lead 8-2 at the break. Annabel Stifler and Elizabeth Zack made their way onto the scoresheet while Love and Bloomquist each potted their second of the night.
 
- The Knights scored twice in the third to get within four (8-4) with 9:08 on the clock. However, Daugherty posted a natural hat trick within a two-minute span to spark a 9-0 run that put the game away. Bloomquist scored twice during the stretch.
