CHESTER, Pa. – The Swarthmore College softball team split a pair of contests at Widener University on Tuesday. The Pride came from behind to win the opener, 12-11, then the Garnet took the nightcap with a 12-0 shutout in five innings.
Olivia McClammy continued her torrid start to the campaign, going 4-for-5 with two doubles, three walks, one stolen base, one RBI, and three runs. The junior leads the squad with a 1.144 OPS and has recorded a hit in eight out of 10 games. McClammy also reached the 100 hit milestone as she continues to climb the all-time, program leader board.
Iris Barone also tallied four hits on the day (8 at-bats) and drove in a team-high four runs with six stolen bases.

Jordan Jackson, and
Serafina Tinio all produced three hits with Jackson and Tinio knocking in three runs apiece.
Emily Bertrand went the distance in the Swarthmore victory, notching her third shutout of the season. She allowed just two hits and struck out three.
GAME ONE
- The Garnet got out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning. Barone led off the frame with a bunt single, stole second and third, then scored on a wild pitch. Jackson followed with a walk and came around to score on a McClammy single. Simon reached on a base hit and later scored on a wild pitch while
Avery McClure drove in McClammy with an infield single.
- Widener blasted a three-run homer in its half of the first to get within one. In the second, Barone started the inning with a triple and came home on Jackson's sacrifice fly. Swarthmore then posted four more runs in the third to make it 9-3. The first four hitters reached as McClure scored on a single and then
Rae Barron scampered home on a groundout. Jackson doubled in a pair of runs for her second and third RBI of the game.
- The Pride got two runs back in the bottom of the third on another home run. Widener inched closer with a two-out, two-run double in the fifth to make the score 9-7.
- Tinio launched her first career home run in the sixth, a two-run shot, to up the Garnet advantage to four (11-7). However, the Pride stunned Swarthmore in the bottom of the inning, rallying for five runs to take the lead. Widener only needed two hits in the frame as it capitalized on five walks and two passed balls.
- In the seventh, McClammy led off with a walk to put the tying run aboard but the next three batters were retired.

GAME TWO
- After being held without a baserunner for the first two innings, the Garnet broke through in the third for two runs. Both runs came in on Barone's base hit to right.
- Swarthmore tacked on four runs in the fourth to make it 6-0. McClammy got the inning started with a double and scored on Bertrand's double.
Ava Babcock and Barone each had an RBI single and the Garnet executed a double steal that brought in
Elisabeth O'Connor.
- The Garnet finished their offensive barrage with six runs in the fifth. Swarthmore sent 12 hitters to the plate, recorded five hits, and benefitted from a pair of errors.
- In the pitching circle, Bertrand conceded just two hits and allowed only one baserunner to reach second base. After the Pride registered their second hit in the third, Bertrand sat down the last eight batters she faced.
