HOW IT HAPPENED

- Hamilton jumped out to an early lead with a run in the second and third innings. The Garnet then got a run back in the bottom of the third with a Ava Babcock sacrifice flyout. Jordan Jackson scored on the play after opening the inning with a walk, 2-1.

- Lane Barron earned the start for Swarthmore, allowing just one earned run in four innings of work. She allowed six hits and did not surrender a walk.

- Swarthmore took the lead with a crooked number in the fourth inning. Emily Bertrand opened the frame with a walk, while Avery McClure singled through the right side in the following at bat. After consecutive strikeouts, Jackson was hit by a pitch to prolong the inning. Simon then worked a walk to bring the tying-run home, while Olivia McClammy reached on an error to add another pair of runs, 4-2.

- Hamilton countered Swarthmore's big inning with a five spot in the fifth to regain the lead. The Garnet loaded the bases with three-straight, one-out singles in the bottom half of the inning, but were unable to plate any runs.
