Baseball Splits Games Against Oswego State and No. 23 Arcadia

LEXINGTON, S.C. – The Swarthmore College baseball team split a pair of games on Tuesday during its spring break trip in South Carolina. The Garnet won their first contest of the day, 5-2, over Oswego State before dropping the nightcap to No. 23 Arcadia University, 8-5.

Aidan Sullivan continued his strong week with four more hits. He batted .571 (4-for-7) with a home run, a walk, two stolen bases, and five runs. Max Roffwarg increased his hitting streak to five games, going 4-for-8 with two stolen bases and a run. Brad Johnston drove in a team-high three runs over the two games.

Liam Alpern posted a strong start in the opener, tossing five innings of one-run ball for the win. He allowed six hits and struck out five.

HOW IT HAPPENED (vs. Oswego State)

- The Garnet increased their lead in the sixth with two runs. Matthew Silvestre doubled in Sullivan and Johnston knocked in Silvestre with a base hit. Silvestre picked up his team-leading 22nd RBI of the season with a sacrifice fly in the eighth to make it 5-1.
