SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Swarthmore College women's basketball team got back in the win column and inched closer to a Centennial Conference playoff spot with a 61-39 Senior Day victory over Franklin and Marshall College on Saturday afternoon.

Emily Smith and
Dana Bandurick prior to the game. Bandurick recorded her third double-double of the season with 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Norah Wingfield led Swarthmore with a game-high 17 points, which tied her career best. The Garnet defense limited the Diplomats to 31.0% shooting and forced 23 turnovers.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The teams were even at four midway through the opening quarter. Swarthmore then closed the period with 12 straight points to go ahead 16-4 entering the second. Five different players scored during the stretch with the defense holding F&M to 0-for-6 from the field with four turnovers.
- The Diplomats bounced back with a 13-6 run in the second quarter to close the gap to five (22-17) with 3:58 to go. However, the Garnet answered with eight of the next 10 to up the margin to 11 (30-19) before taking a 30-21 advantage into halftime.
- After a three-pointer got F&M within six (30-24) to begin the third quarter, Swarthmore pulled away with a 16-4 surge to make it 46-28 late in the period. Wingfield led the way with eight points as the Garnet shot 7-of-13 while all four of the Diplomats' points came at the foul line.
- Swarthmore carried a 7-0 stretch into the final period to earn its largest lead of the day (53-30) with 8:11 to play. The Garnet's cushion remained above 20 for the rest of the contest.
