Men’s Basketball Suffers Back-and-Forth Loss to Albright

READING, Pa. - The Swarthmore College men's basketball team fell just short against Albright College, 64-59, on Tuesday night. The matchup featured 13 lead changes and seven ties.

Eddie Paquette led the way for the Garnet with 14 points, four rebounds and three assists. Eight different players made three-pointers for Swarthmore as 42 of their 66 shot attempts were beyond the three-point arc.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Devin Burger and Aidan Godfrey knocked down consecutive three-pointers to give the Garnet an early lead over the Lions, 10-5. Albright eventually worked the game back to one point, until Paquette and Cal Hanson sank back-to-back triples to gain a seven-point advantage with 9:06 left.

- Albright refused to go away as it rallied for six-unanswered to pull within one point. However, Quaye Agoyo answered the call this time with a three-pointer to provide the Garnet with some breathing room, 21-17.

- Albright took its first lead since the opening three minutes with another 6-0 run. Ryan Chu then put the Garnet back in front with a timely three. However, Albright answered with a triple of their own as it used a 5-2 run to take a halftime lead, 28-26.

- Brady Kageyama connected from long range, while Paquette and Nyle Coleman split at the foul line to put Swarthmore back ahead with four-straight points out of intermission. The Lions would regain their lead until Burger buried his second triple to take a one-point lead at 16:03.

- Swarthmore took its biggest lead of the game with a Caleb Aurelien three-ball to pull ahead by seven points with 9:11 left. Albright then countered with its largest run of the game - a 10-0 stretch, which consisted of eight free throws made, 54-51.

- Kageyama forced the 12th lead change of the game with a three-pointer to put Swarthmore ahead by one point. However, Albright provided another answer with a go-ahead driving layup at the 1:03 mark. The Lions then scored the final six points to secure a narrow victory over the Garnet.
