Volleyball Captures Eighth-Straight Win, Remains Unbeaten in Conference

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College volleyball team remained unbeaten in the Centennial Conference with a 3-0 victory over Bryn Mawr College on Wednesday. The team captured its eighth-straight victory and have not lost a game in nearly a month. 

Emily Sun was outstanding for the Garnet with a career-high five aces to go along with 14 assists. Madeline Mountcastle also added three aces, while pacing the offense with 15 assists.

Alexia Enache and Isabel Adam both enjoyed double-digit kills with 12 and 10, respectively. Adam recorded double-digit kills for the third-straight game.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- The Owls kept things close early in the game as they battled to a 6-6 tie to start the set. The Garnet then distanced themselves with six-unanswered points to capture momentum. Enache sparked the rally with a kill and an ace, while Angelina Heminway, Zion Vick, Adam and Mountcastle wrapped up the stretch with consecutive kills. Later in the set, Bryn Mawr cut the lead to three, before Swarthmore wrapped up the set with three-straight points. Sun clinched the opening set with a service ace, 25-19. 

- Swarthmore got off to a fast start in the second set. The Garnet opened the stanza with three-straight points before rallying for an 11-2 run. Keira Miles sparked the run with a kill, while Enache closed the stretch with back-to-back kills. The Garnet kept their foot on the gas as they closed a dominant second set with eight-straight points, 25-11. 

- The Garnet put the game away early with nine-unanswered points to open the third set. Swarthmore never looked back as they cruised to a 25-14 victory.
