SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Swarthmore College field hockey team upped its win streak to five games and opened Centennial Conference play with a 5-0 blanking of visiting McDaniel College on Saturday.
The Garnet dominated the matchup, outshooting the Green Terror, 18-3.
Magdelana Jordan led the effort with a goal and two assists while
Brooke Findlay notched a goal and an assist.
Cassandra Conklin stopped all three shots she faced for her third shutout of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Anna Stancofski began the scoring for Swarthmore, jumping on a rebound in front to make it 1-0 in the eighth minute.
- The Garnet took a 2-0 advantage in the second quarter as Jordan sprung Findlay for a breakaway and Findlay beat the goalkeeper in the 23
rd minute for her second goal of the year.

Sophia Hitchingham put Swarthmore ahead by three with 1:25 to go before halftime.
Deborah Kim had the ball at the top of the circle and connected with Hitchingham at the left post. It was Hitchingham's team-leading fourth tally of the campaign.
- McDaniel recorded its first shot of the contest in the fourth quarter to start a three-chance flurry within a three-minute span but Conklin was up to the task, turning away all three opportunities.
- Findlay set up Jordan for a goal in front of the cage in the 54
th minute before Jordan registered another helper herself just over a minute later, finding an open
Jackie Crowley at the goalmouth to close the scoring.
