Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Cramblit Forces Draw with Late Goal at Kean, 1-1

UNION, NJ - The Swarthmore College men's soccer team battled to a draw against Kean University, 1-1, after a Brandon Cramblit penalty kick knotted the score in the 78th minute on Wednesday night.

Swarthmore surrendered an early goal in the 23rd minute, but was able to salvage a draw with an equalizer from Cramblit off a penalty kick. The Cougars outshot the Garnet 15-8 and held a 5-2 advantage in shots on goal. They also created more corner opportunities with a 6-1 advantage.

Christian Bignotti helped keep the Garnet within striking distance with four saves on the evening. The junior shook off an early goal to make all three of his save attempts in a scoreless second half.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kean controlled possession early in the game as they fired the match's first three shots. Bignotti made a save on one of the attempts as the others fell off target. The Garnet answered moments later with their only corner of the evening, but had the ensuing shot attempt blocked away.

- The Cougars broke through with the game's first score in the 23rd minute, but were unable to generate a shot on goal for the rest of the stanza. Matthew Loreg responded with a Garnet shot on goal in the 27th minute, but was turned away by the keeper.

- Bignotti had to make a pair of saves in the 53rd and 54th minutes to keep his team within striking distance. Despite being outshot in the half, the Garnet were rewarded for their perseverance with a penalty kick in the 78th minute. Cramblit then answered the call as he buried the game-tying score for Swarthmore.

- The Cougars put together one last flurry of attacks, but were denied by Bignotti and the Garnet defense. The Garnet tallied two shots of their own late in the contest, but had to settle for the draw.
