SWARTHMORE, PA. - Capturing their third straight conference win, the No. 28 Swarthmore men's tennis team took down Haverford College by a score of 6-3 on Thursday, Mar. 6.
Starting off strong, the Garnet won all three doubles matches, going into singles play up 3-0. While the Fords showed some signs of life in singles, taking wins in the No. 3 and No. 4 seeded matchups, Swarthmore closed out the contest in the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 5 slots, seizing their 6-3 win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Doubles:
- The Garnet were perfect in doubles play, not allowing their opponents to win more than three games en route to a 3-0 lead over the Fords.
- Swarthmore saw wins out of the duos of first year

Max Lindstrom (8-2) and sophomore

Andres Fente (8-3) in the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 seeded matches respectively.
Singles:
- Maintaining their momentum into singles, the Garnet saw an early 6-4, 6-0 win from Melnikov in the No. 1 spot, extending Swarthmore's point total to four.
- While Haverford struck back, coming out on top in the No. 3 and No. 4 matches to shrink the Garnet's margin to 4-2, Koduri and Lindstrom closed out the dual match in the No. 2 and No. 5 slots, triumphing 6-2, 6-3 and 8-5 respectively for Swarthmore's decisive fifth and sixth points.
UP NEXT
Only taking one day off, the Garnet will travel to Dickinson College on Saturday, Apr. 8 for a doubleheader, taking on Ursinus College at 1:00 p.m., and Dickinson at 2:00 p.m.
