SWARTHMORE, PA. - Capturing their third straight conference win, the No. 28 Swarthmore men's tennis team took down Haverford College by a score of 6-3 on Thursday, Mar. 6.

Starting off strong, the Garnet won all three doubles matches, going into singles play up 3-0. While the Fords showed some signs of life in singles, taking wins in the No. 3 and No. 4 seeded matchups, Swarthmore closed out the contest in the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 5 slots, seizing their 6-3 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- The Garnet were perfect in doubles play, not allowing their opponents to win more than three games en route to a 3-0 lead over the Fords.

- Swarthmore saw wins out of the duos of first year Michael Melnikov/first year Utham Koduri (8-3), junior Rushi Patel/first year Max Lindstrom (8-2) and sophomore Max Pogorelov/first year Andres Fente (8-3) in the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 seeded matches respectively.

Singles:
- Maintaining their momentum into singles, the Garnet saw an early 6-4, 6-0 win from Melnikov in the No. 1 spot, extending Swarthmore's point total to four.

- While Haverford struck back, coming out on top in the No. 3 and No. 4 matches to shrink the Garnet's margin to 4-2, Koduri and Lindstrom closed out the dual match in the No. 2 and No. 5 slots, triumphing 6-2, 6-3 and 8-5 respectively for Swarthmore's decisive fifth and sixth points.
