Softball Clinches Fifth Seed in Double-header Sweep over Muhlenberg

SWARTHMORE, Pa - The Swarthmore College softball team picked up a crucial double-header sweep over Muhlenberg College, who entered the game with an identical conference record, on Tuesday afternoon. With the pair of victories, the Garnet clinched the fifth seed in the Centennial Championship Tournament.

Alexandra Simon helped secure a victory in the opener with a four RBI performance to lead the Garnet. The junior went a combined 4-for-6 in both games and was on base six times with three runs scored.

Emily Bertrand was outstanding as she combined for seven innings of two-run ball in the double-header. The sophomore tossed a gem in the finale as she allowed just one hit in a scoreless five innings.
