No. 16 Men’s Lacrosse Suffers First Conference Loss at Dickinson

CARLISLE, Pa. - The No. 16 Swarthmore College men's lacrosse team suffered their first conference defeat of the season versus No. 12 Dickinson College, 17-4, on Saturday afternoon. 

Von Mabbs led the Garnet with two goals, while Danny Lowe and Carter Strauch added the team's other two scores. Jackson Brosgol also recorded a point for Swarthmore with one assist. 

Ryan Pretzer played the majority of the game between the pipes as he collected a game-high 14 saves as the Garnet were outshot 56-34.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Dickinson jumped out to a big lead with six unanswered goals in the opening quarter. Carter Strauch then broke the Red Devils' run with the Garnet's first goal at the 2:08 mark. 

- The Red Devils carried their momentum into the second quarter as they shutout Swarthmore in the stanza. Dickinson added five goals in the frame, while outshooting the Garnet 18-10. Swarthmore registered five shots on goal during the quarter, but were unable to find the back of the net.

- Dickinson opened the third quarter with three more unanswered goals to expand their streak to eight-straight goals. The Garnet were able to break the rally with a Von Mabbs goal at the 1:45 mark. The junior midfielder then added his second score before the end of the third stanza, 15-3.

- The Red Devils secured the victory with two-straight goals to open the fourth quarter. Swarthmore was able to add the game's final score on a Lowe tally, but were unable to cut into a large deficit.
