Women’s Lacrosse Opens Spring Break with Fourth-Straight Win

CLEARWATER, Fla. - The Swarthmore College women's lacrosse team remained unbeaten as they opened their spring break slate with a 13-3 victory over Bridgewater State University on Tuesday morning. 

Isabela Bloomquist led the Garnet in scoring for the second-straight game. The sophomore tallied four goals in the victory after putting together a seven-goal performance against Immaculata University. 

Emma Holub and Elizabeth Zack also continued their hot starts to the season with three goals, respectively. Holub leads the Garnet with 16 points this season, while Zack is tied for second with 14 points. Bloomquist also has 14 points on team-high 14 goals.
 

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bloomquist scored four goals in the first quarter as Swarthmore jumped out to a 6-1 lead. Bloomquist tallied the opening two goals, while Zack assisted the second goal and then added her own score with 7:29 left. Bloomquist added another goal before Bridgewater answered with their opening tally with 3:07 remaining. Swarthmore built on their advantage with a Sophie Finkelstein goal and another Bloomquist tally before time expired.

- Swarthmore shutout Bridgewater in the second quarter as the Garnet stretched out their lead. Holub was responsible for the first two goals in the second quarter, while Andie Kapiloff found the back of the net for the team's fifth-unanswered score, 9-1. 

- The Garnet carried momentum out of halftime with a woman-up goal from Zack early in the third quarter. Moments later, Finkelstein increased the team's lead to 10 goals with her second tally. Bridgewater got one goal back before the end of the stanza as they decreased their deficit to nine heading into the final quarter, 11-2.

- Zack completed the hat trick with the opening goal of the fourth quarter. Bridgewater responded later in the stanza with their third goal, while Holub also recorded the last leg of her hat trick with a tally in the final minute of play.
