NAPLES, Fl. - Traveling down to Naples, Florida for another doubleheader, the Swarthmore softball team took down John Carroll University by a score of 3-2 in their first game, and Alverno College by a score of 4-2 in their second.
 
Senior 
Meg Ozawa dominated for the Garnet against John Carroll, pitching a full game and allowing just two runs, while striking out six batters.
 
Senior 
Kate Hart stepped up in a big way for Swarthmore in their matchup with Alverno, putting up a stat line of one run, two hits and three RBIs in the Garnet's second win of the day.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED - JOHN CARROLL
- While both squads were kept scoreless through the first two innings, the Garnet were able to secure the first run of the game in the top of the third. After singling to left field, junior 
Flannery McFadden advanced to third on a John Carroll error, ultimately scoring on a wild pitch and putting Swarthmore up 1-0.
- The Garnet extended their lead to 2-0 in the top of the fourth, with senior 
Cassidy Cheong being driven in from third by a sacrifice fly from first year 
Iris Barone.
- John Carroll were finally able to get on the board in the bottom of the fourth, eventually tying the contest at 2-all in the bottom of the sixth.
- The Garnet recaptured their lead at 3-2 in the top of the seventh, with McFadden recording her second run of the game off of an RBI double from junior 
Alexandra Simon.
- The Garnet were able to hold the Blue Streaks scoreless in the bottom of the seventh, securing their 3-2 win.
- John Carroll's offense was completely shut down by Ozawa. The New York native pitched all seven innings, allowing just two earned runs and seven hits while recording six strikeouts.

HOW IT HAPPENED - ALVERNO
- Despite neither team being able to get on the board through the first inning and a half, the Garnet took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second when Hart was brought home by a dinger from sophomore 
Jordan Jackson.
- While the Inferno tied the contest at 1-all in the top of the fourth, the Swarthmore offense exploded in the bottom of the fifth. After the Garnet loaded the bases, a Hart double to center field brought home Simon, senior 
Brooke Coneeny and sophomore 
Olivia McClammy, putting Swarthmore up 4-1.
- Alverno put up one more run in the top of the sixth, but were unable to catch the Garnet, with Swarthmore ultimately taking the win 4-2.
