PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - The Swarthmore College baseball team earned their third-straight victory with a pair of wins over Heidelberg University on Sunday. The Garnet shutout the Knights 10-0 in the opener before completing the sweep with a 4-3 victory in game two.

The Garnet received excellent starting pitching as Liam Alpern and Joshua Rankey combined for 8.0 innings with one earned run and eight strikeouts. Matteo Sollecito was also strong in four shutout innings of relief with two strikeouts and three hits allowed.

GAME ONE: SWARTHMORE 10, HEIDELBERG 0
HOW IT HAPPENED

- The Garnet added a run in the fourth inning on a Roffwarg double to plate Xavier Taylor. Alpern then completed his day with a clean fourth inning to hold the Knights scoreless.

- Nate Jbara homered to left field in the fifth inning to expand the team's lead to four runs. Roffwarg added to the advantage in the sixth with an RBI single, 5-0.

- Sollecito escaped some trouble in the fifth inning before retiring the side in the sixth and seventh innings. Swarthmore added a pair of insurance runs in the seventh. Taylor plated a run on a single, while the Garnet scored another run on a throwing error, 7-0.
