Baseball Downed By Rowan

GLASSBORO, NJ. - Playing in their penultimate non-conference game of the season, the Swarthmore baseball team was taken down 15-2 by Rowan University on Tuesday, Mar. 28.

Offensively, the Garnet were led by senior Joe Radek, with the left fielder notching two hits and a run on four at bats.

From the mound, Swarthmore saw stellar production from junior Jett Shue, with the righty allowing just one hit and no earned runs over one inning pitched.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After the Garnet were held scoreless in the top of the first, the Owls drew first blood, putting up six runs in the bottom of the inning.

- While Swarthmore were able to tally two doubles through the first two innings, both runners were left stranded. Rowan capitalized on the Garnet's struggles, scoring twice more in the second to take an 8-0 lead.

- The Garnet were finally able to get on the board in the third, with sophomore Benjamin Buchman being brought home on an error to shrink the deficit to 8-1.

- Rowan extended their advantage through the next three innings, scoring twice in each to go up 14-1.

- Radek secured the Garnet's second run in the seventh. After hammering a triple, the senior was brought home by a sacrifice grounder from senior Kirk Terada-Herzer, putting the score at 14-2.

- Rowan crossed home once more in the bottom of the seventh, closing out their 15-2 win over the Garnet.
