Men’s Basketball Dominates McDaniel in Senior Day Victory

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The No. 10 Swarthmore College men's basketball team swept their season series versus McDaniel College, 84-60, to secure a dominant Senior Day victory on Saturday afternoon.

The men's basketball program honored seniors TJ Chapman, George Corzine, Julian Levin, Colin Shaw and George Visconti before this afternoon's opening tip. All five seniors scored for the Garnet - including Levin who had a career-high four points.

Vinny DeAngelo led all scorers with 22 points on 8-of-11 shooting. Chapman also scored in double figures with 11 points, while Visconti added 10 points and seven assists. Shaw and Corzine had six and eight points on the afternoon, respectively. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Corzine and Visconti opened the contest with consecutive buckets. Levin then added a layup, which was shortly followed by a Shaw three-pointer to take an 11-4 lead with 15:34 left. 

- DeAngelo helped spark a Garnet run as he scored six-unanswered to force a Green Terror timeout with 6:47 left. The junior hit all three free throws after drawing a foul behind the arc. He then drilled a triple on the following possession to put the Garnet ahead by 10 points, 29-19. 

- The Garnet made a late surge with a 13-5 run at the end of the first half. Shaw, Chapman and Eddie Paquette all added layups, while DeAngelo closed the half with a pull-up three, 42-29.

- Swarthmore opened the second half with a 10-0 to force an early Green Terror timeout. Cal Hanson and Shaw capped off the run with three-pointers to pull ahead 52-29.

- The Garnet kept McDaniel at a distance for the entire second half. Chapman nailed a three-pointer at the 3:48 mark. The senior then sank a pair of free throws to enter double figures in scoring. Moments later, Levin hit a pair of free throws to secure a career-high in scoring.
