SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The No. 15 Swarthmore College men's basketball team snapped its seven-game win streak versus Widener University, 77-57, on Saturday night. The reigning MAC Commonwealth Champions have won their previous three meetings against the Garnet.

Vinny DeAngelo led all scorers with 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field. Nyle Coleman was the only other Garnet in double figures with 10 points, while Eddie Paquette contributed seven points and seven rebounds.

Widener played a clean game as they won the turnover battle 20-10 versus the Garnet. The Pride went on to outscore Swarthmore 34-6 in points off turnovers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- DeAngelo carried the offense early with Swarthmore's first eight points of the game. The senior opened the contest with a jumper in the paint, before connecting on triples in back-to-back possessions. Widener matched the Garnet as they pulled ahead by two points on a three-ball with 16:12 left. Moments later, Cal Hanson countered with a three to regain the lead for Swarthmore, 11-10.

- After the Pride regained the lead with another three-pointer, Matt Mulvey sank a triple to put Swarthmore back ahead. Widener then answered for the lead on its following possession as the Pride rallied for a 10-2 run to gain separation, 23-16.

- Widener expanded its lead to double digits at the 5:00 mark. However, the Garnet cut into their deficit with an 8-2 run to end the first half. Devin Burger drilled a crucial three-pointer during the stretch, while DeAngelo knocked in a pair of free throws to come within five points, 35-30.

- The Pride put their foot on the gas early in the second half with 10-straight points out of the locker room. Coleman helped stop the bleeding with a three-pointer, but the Pride answered with a triple of their own on its following possession, 48-33.

- Widener pulled ahead by 18 points with 15:38 left. The Garnet made attempts to chip away at their deficit, but struggled to gain much ground. DeAngelo connected from three-point range to pull within 11 points, but the Garnet were unable to pull within single digits for the remainder of regulation.
